Ever since high-profile cricket resumed in July, a surprising sight has been witnessed on the ground. Players are being seen wearing more than one cap at a time on the field.

A similar sight is being witnessed in the IPL too. In almost all the games, the players particularly the captain of the side is being seen wearing two caps at a time. Going the reactions on the social media, one can easily say that the players wearing more than one cap at a time has definitely surprised the fans.
Well, the reason behind the same is one of the several measures taken to ensure individuals remain safe on the cricket field in these testing times of the coronavirus pandemic. The ICC has prohibited the players from handing their items including caps and sunglasses to the umpires like they usually did before the pandemic.

The governing body has also prohibited the players from handing their items to their teammates. But while the players are definitely not handing their items to the umpires, they are handing their caps to their teammates before bowling.
“On-field protocols – For example, no unnecessary body contact and no handing over items (cap, towels, sunglasses etc.) to umpires or teammates. Each player should be responsible for their own items,” read the ICC statement.
Talking about the IPL, it is in its business phase at the moment with each team having played at least nine games. Delhi Capitals are at the top of the points table with 7 wins from ten games, followed by Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders in the top four.
